GETTING STARTED

Why loose leaf tea?

Loose leaf tea offers a fresher and more flavorful experience compared to pre-packaged tea bags, enhancing both the flavor and aroma of your tea ritual. It allows you to see and touch the whole herbs, enhancing your connection to the ritual of tea. Loose leaf tea also reduces exposure to microplastics, which can be found in tea bags, and minimizes waste with its reusable nature. Plus, the quality of loose leaf tea is often higher, providing better flavor and more of the herbs' natural benefits.

How do I brew loose leaf tea?

Brewing loose leaf tea is simple! Add 1-2 teaspoons of tea to your Teazan teapot or your own infuser and pour hot water (just below boiling) over the herbs. Steep for 5-10 minutes, depending on your desired strength, then pour and enjoy.

How much tea should I use per cup?

For most herbal teas, 1-2 teaspoons per 8-10 ounces of water is ideal. Adjust the amount to suit your taste preferences-- you can use more tea or steep for longer for a more "medicinal" steep.

Can I over-steep loose leaf tea?

No, there is no risk of over-steeping herbal teas. Steeping them longer can often provide a deeper flavor and allow more of the herbs' beneficial compounds to infuse into the water. Feel free to adjust the steeping time to suit your taste and needs—longer steeps may bring out stronger medicinal or earthy notes for a deeper infusion.

Can I reuse loose leaf tea?

Yes! Many herbal teas can be steeped a second time. The flavor may be lighter, so we recommend steeping for at least 10 minutes when reusing.

Can herbal tea be used to make iced tea?

Absolutely! We recommend a longer steep time (at least 10 min) for a stronger flavor and to account for diluting with ice. Chill the infusion in the fridge and pour over ice for a refreshing drink. Feel free to add honey, fresh herbs, or fruit to enhance the experience! Herbal teas also make a delicious base for lattes and mocktails.
